Azeez Al-Shaair Fined Again — Nearly $12K for Eye-Black Message
The NFL docked the linebacker $11,941 for a personal message on his eye strips against Buffalo — his second such fine in under a year.

The NFL has hit Azeez Al-Shaair with an $11,941 fine for writing a personal message — the name "Hind Rajab" — on the eye-black strips he wore during Sunday's game against the Bills. It's the second time in under a year the league has reached into his wallet for the same reason, and the two fines now stack up to more than $23,000 combined.
Back in January, Al-Shaair was fined $11,593 for putting "stop the genocide" on his eye strips during the wild-card win at Pittsburgh. He tried to wear the same message pregame ahead of the divisional round against New England, and by his own account he was told he'd be pulled from the game if it stayed on the field. Hind Rajab, whose name he wore Sunday, was a five-year-old Palestinian girl killed with six family members in 2024.
The story carries some extra weight beyond the box score. Rajab is also the subject of Macklemore's song "Hind's Hall," which Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly objected to — one of the reasons Macklemore was dropped from the current Ed Sheeran tour over pro-Palestine messaging. Al-Shaair, clearly, has decided a five-figure fine isn't going to change his mind.
What It Means For Your Roster
Here's the part fantasy managers actually care about: none of this touches his availability. A fine is a fine. There's no suspension attached, no missed practice, no snap-count reduction. Al-Shaair lined up Sunday, played his game, and did the same thing he did in January. From a roster-management standpoint, this is noise.
If you're in an IDP league, Al-Shaair remains exactly what he was before the news broke — a starting off-ball linebacker whose value lives and dies on tackle volume, not off-field headlines. There's nothing here that should push you toward the waiver wire or the trade block.
Bottom line: hold. File this under stories worth reading but not worth reacting to, at least where your lineup is concerned. Unless the league escalates to a suspension — and there's no indication it will — Al-Shaair's fantasy outlook is completely untouched. Keep him in your lineup and move on.
