Easton Stick Lands on Buccaneers Practice Squad After Colts Cut

The Buccaneers rounded out a 16-player practice squad on Monday, and the only fresh face in the group is quarterback Easton Stick, who lands in Tampa Bay after the Colts waived him on August 30. Fifteen of the other 16 signings were already in camp with the Bucs, so Stick is the lone outside addition. Tampa's practice squad now sits at 16 of a possible 17.
Stick, 6-1 and 224 pounds, brings a modest NFL resume: six career games, four starts, and a 112-of-175 line (64.0%) for 1,133 yards, three touchdowns and one pick, good for an 85.7 passer rating. All of that came with the Chargers, who drafted him in the fifth round (No. 166) back in 2019. He bounced to Atlanta in 2025 and Indianapolis in 2026 before this stop.
The college pedigree is the fun part. At North Dakota State, Stick went 49-3 as a starter — the winningest quarterback in FCS history — and left as the program's all-time leader in passing yards (8,693) and passing touchdowns (88). He won four FCS titles, three as the starter, and took home AP first-team All-America honors as a senior in 2018. That's a heck of a Wikipedia page. It's also almost entirely irrelevant to your Sunday lineup.
The Fantasy Fallout
Let's be blunt about where this leaves things. Stick sits at #237 overall in our rankings, QB41 at the position, and his last meaningful NFL production came in 2023, when he put up 76 PPR points across five games (1,129 pass yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, plus a rushing score). A practice-squad QB behind Tampa's starter isn't sniffing your roster in any league format that matters.
For fantasy managers, this is a non-event dressed up as transaction news. There's no path to snaps here barring multiple injuries, and even then you'd be streaming someone else first. If Stick is somehow rostered in a 32-team dynasty superflex format, he's a DROP. Everyone else can keep scrolling — the Bucs' fantasy-relevant depth chart didn't move an inch.
