Jets Kick Tires on Will Levis, UFL MVP Jack Plummer for QB Depth
New York worked out the ex-Titans starter and UFL MVP Thursday. Neither moves the fantasy needle behind Geno Smith just yet.

The Jets spent Thursday auditioning quarterbacks, bringing in Will Levis and reigning UFL MVP Jack Plummer for a look at a practice-squad spot. Levis, a 2023 second-round pick, was cut by the Titans over the weekend and cleared waivers without a single team putting in a claim.
That's the headline number for context: zero claims on a passer who started 21 games from 2023-24, completing 61.0 percent of his throws for 3,899 yards with 21 touchdowns against 16 picks. He missed all of 2025 with injury, and the league's collective shrug on the wire tells you where his stock sits right now.
Plummer arrives with a shinier recent résumé. He was named UFL MVP after leading the league with 2,188 passing yards for the Orlando Storm, tossing 17 touchdowns and just one interception across 10 games. He's already bounced around NFL buildings this offseason, with time in Carolina plus workouts for the 49ers and Dolphins.
The reason New York is shopping is thin depth. Geno Smith is the starter, but the only other quarterback on the 53-man roster is rookie Cade Klubnik, with veteran Bailey Zappe stashed on the practice squad. Adding one of these arms is about insurance, not a shakeup at the top of the depth chart.
The Fantasy Fallout
None of this changes your lineup. Smith is our No. 88 overall (QB24) and posted 174 PPR points across 15 games last season (2025), which is the ceiling for Jets passing production for now. Levis carries our No. 110 rank (QB28) off his 148 PPR points from 2024, and his last-five-game form that year trended 2.2 fantasy points below his own average — hardly a profile screaming for a rescue.
For managers: this is a WATCH at most, and only if you play in a very deep dynasty or superflex format where roster spots grow on trees. Levis and Plummer are practice-squad names competing for a job that never touches your box score unless Smith goes down. Zappe (7 PPR points in one 2024 game) isn't rosterable either. Keep your bench spots for players who'll actually see the field.
