Ladd McConkey Questionable for Chargers With Foot Injury, James Also Iffy
McConkey (foot) was a limited practice participant Friday and carries a questionable tag — his 36 PPR points through three games are suddenly in doubt.

Foot injury limited him Friday; monitor inactives before locking lineups.
- McConkey: 12 rec, 183 yds, 1 TD in 2026 (3 games)
- McConkey ranks #79 overall, WR27 in our model
- McConkey limited in practice Friday (foot)
- Derwin James (hamstring) also questionable
- Chargers ruled out Kolar, Thompson, Tomlinson, Awosika
The Chargers' Friday injury report is a headache for fantasy managers, and the name that matters most is Ladd McConkey. The second-year wideout popped up as questionable with a foot injury and was limited in Friday's practice, which puts his availability in genuine doubt heading into the weekend.
That's a real problem if you've been riding him. McConkey has piled up 12 catches for 183 yards and a touchdown through three games in 2026 — 36 PPR points, good enough to land at WR27 and #79 overall in our rankings. He's the Chargers' clear target hog, so any absence or snap limit reshapes this passing game entirely.
Who Else Is On The List
He's not alone. Safety Derwin James Jr. (hamstring), quarterback Trey Lance (groin) and safety Elijah Molden (hamstring) all drew questionable tags and were limited Friday. Cornerback Donte Jackson (concussion) is questionable too, though he at least practiced in full. Lance is worth noting here — he was listed as questionable before Week 3 and still suited up, with DJ Uiagalelei sitting behind him on the depth chart.
The ruled-out group is longer and more definitive: left guard Kayode Awosika (fibula), tight end Charlie Kolar (forearm), receiver Brenen Thompson (quadriceps) and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson (hamstring) are all out. None of them move the fantasy needle much — Kolar had just 5 PPR points through two games in 2026, and Thompson sat at 2 — so their absences barely register beyond the box score.
The quietly good news is Keaton Mitchell. The running back wore a walking boot earlier in the week but practiced in full Friday and carries no injury designation at all. Mitchell has been a sneaky contributor with 20 PPR points across three games in 2026, including a receiving touchdown, and he's clear to play.
The Fantasy Call
For McConkey, this is a watch-and-wait situation, not a panic. A limited Friday with a questionable tag means you need a backup plan ready and your eyes on the inactives report roughly 90 minutes before kickoff. If you've got a safe WR3 or flex alternative, keep them warm. Don't drop him over one injury report — a WR27 with his target share is a hold the moment he's cleared. Mitchell, meanwhile, is a legitimate deep-league streamer now that he's fully healthy.
