Raiders Lose Jack Bech to IR With Fractured Forearm, Promote Cody White

The Raiders shuffled their receiver room Tuesday, placing rookie WR Jack Bech on injured reserve after he fractured his forearm during Sunday's win over the Saints. To fill the spot, Las Vegas promoted WR Cody White from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
Bech was quietly building momentum before the break. He'd caught 20 balls for 224 yards across 16 games in 2025, and over his last five outings he was averaging 2.4 PPR points above his season baseline — modest numbers, but a real upward trend for a young player carving out a role. That progress is on ice now, with an IR stint guaranteeing at least four missed games.
White gets the opportunity because he was out of practice-squad elevations. He's logged 56 percent of special teams snaps and 16 percent of offensive reps so far this season, which tells you exactly what his job is: coverage teams first, occasional depth receiver second. The 27-year-old entered the league undrafted in 2020 and has appeared in 33 career games.
The Raiders rounded out the moves by adding veteran WR Phillip Dorsett to the practice squad and cutting WR Justin Shorter loose from it. Shorter appeared in seven games in 2025 and finished with zero PPR points, so his departure barely registers on any waiver radar.
The Fantasy Fallout
None of these names carry weight in standard formats. Bech sat at WR115 in our rankings (#320 overall) even while playing — useful in deep dynasty leagues, invisible in redraft. White checks in at WR151 (#397 overall) with just 3 catches, 90 yards and a touchdown for 18 PPR points in 2025. A special-teams promotion doesn't change that math.
For fantasy managers, this is simple. If you're stashing Bech in a shallow or standard league, the IR designation frees you to drop him without a second thought — you can revisit when he's activated. White isn't a pickup outside the deepest dynasty setups, and Dorsett is a name-only add. Move on and spend your waiver budget elsewhere.
