IR means a minimum four weeks out for a TE who wasn't producing anyway.

Key numbers
  • Ferguson to IR Friday with ankle injury
  • 7 rec, 63 yds, 1 TD in 3 games (2026)
  • 19 PPR points on the season, TE49 in our ranks
  • WR Alex Bachman promoted from practice squad
  • Aaron Donald (back), Jaylen Watson (shoulder) out

The Rams put tight end Terrance Ferguson on injured reserve Friday with an ankle injury, parking him for at least four games and closing the book — for now — on a quiet 2026 start. Through three games this season, Ferguson had just seven catches for 63 yards and a touchdown, worth 19 PPR points total, which sits him at TE49 in our rankings.

That's the kind of production fantasy managers barely noticed in the first place, and now it's officially gone. Ferguson's one score kept him from being a total ghost, but a single-touchdown, 63-yard line over three weeks never sniffed startable territory in any format that matters.

The Roster Shuffle

To fill out the active roster, the Rams elevated wide receiver Alex Bachman and defensive end Larrell Murchison from the practice squad. Bachman isn't a fantasy name — he logged 2 catches for 12 yards and 3 PPR points across 13 games in 2025, and he checks in at WR55 in our ranks. He's depth and special-teams fodder, not a waiver target.

Los Angeles also ruled out two more pieces for the weekend: defensive tackle Aaron Donald (back) and cornerback Jaylen Watson (shoulder). Neither moves the needle for offensive fantasy lineups, but IDP leaguers running Donald should pivot to a different plug-in this week.

The Fantasy Fallout

The context that actually matters: Ferguson's rookie-caliber usage wasn't trending anywhere good even when healthy. He managed 11 catches for 231 yards and two touchdowns last season, so there's a flicker of upside buried in his profile — but not enough to stash through an IR stint in anything but the deepest dynasty setups.

Bottom line: if you're somehow still rostering Ferguson in a redraft league, drop him and move on. The IR minimum keeps him out at least four weeks, his floor was already near zero, and your bench has better uses. Dynasty managers with the roster room can hold and see whether the ankle cleans up and the targets ever materialize.
