Sam Darnold Practices for First Time Since Week 1 Glute Injury
Darnold logged a limited session Wednesday, and with an 0-2 Washington team missing Jayden Daniels, the QB13 could be worth a stream look.

Practicing again, but Seattle may not rush him back for Week 3.
- Darnold: first practice since Week 1 glute injury
- Darnold our QB13, 269 PPR pts in 2025 (17 games)
- Seattle faces 0-2 Washington, no Jayden Daniels
- Jadarian Price (chest) in full pads at practice
- Kupp limited with back for second straight week
Sam Darnold is trending back. Seattle's starter was a limited participant Wednesday, his first practice since a glute injury knocked him out in Week 1. That's the clearest signal yet that the guy who threw for 4,048 yards and 25 touchdowns with zero picks last season (2025) — good for QB13 in our rankings — is closing in on a return.
Here's the twist: whether Darnold suits up for Week 3 may have less to do with his health than with how cautious Seattle wants to be. Drew Lock has held the fort — he's posted 0 PPR points across five games in 2025 but hasn't sunk the ship — and the Seahawks draw an 0-2 Washington team that will be without starter Jayden Daniels. Easy schedule, backup already stabilizing things. That's the kind of setup where a team lets a starter get all the way right.
Backfield And Defense Notes
Rookie running back Jadarian Price, working back from a chest injury, was out there in full pads alongside Darnold — an encouraging visual that Seattle's backfield could be whole again soon. On defense, do-it-all safety Nick Emmanwori was a full participant after a token nine-snap, one-tackle cameo against Arizona in Week 2.
Not everyone's climbing. Safety Ty Okada (hamstring) missed practice again and has yet to play this season, with a Week 3 absence looking likely. DT Brandon Pili sat out with a concussion suffered early in the Arizona game. Linebacker Ernest Jones landed on the report for the first time with a neck issue.
The Fantasy Fallout
The name that matters for most rosters is Cooper Kupp, limited with a back injury for the second consecutive week. Kupp put up 47 catches for 593 yards and 2 touchdowns — 116 PPR points — last season (2025), and he's our WR52. Back tightness that lingers is worth monitoring closely before you lock him into a lineup.
As for Darnold: don't grab your streamer bat just yet, but keep him on the radar. If Seattle clears him against a Daniels-less Washington squad, the QB13 in a soft spot is a legitimate two-QB and superflex play. Watch his Thursday and Friday participation — a bump to full is your green light. Kupp managers, have a contingency ready.
