Seahawks Stash Jadarian Price on IR as Charbonnet Clock Ticks
Seattle's rookie back hits injured reserve with a chest injury after just 119 rushing yards and two lost fumbles through three games.

His 21-day window is open and he's the real backfield prize here.
- Price to IR with a chest injury (Saturday)
- 119 rush yds on 28 carries, 2 lost fumbles
- Played just 35.8% of offensive snaps
- Charbonnet's 21-day practice window is open
- Seattle signed Velus Jones Jr. off the practice squad
The Seahawks placed rookie running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve Saturday with a chest injury, closing the book — at least for a few weeks — on a rough start for the final pick of the first round. Price originally hurt the chest in Week 2, then aggravated it in Wednesday's practice, which pushed Seattle to shut him down.
The numbers tell you why nobody in fantasy was sweating this backfield yet. Price started all three of Seattle's games but managed only 119 rushing yards on 28 carries while playing 35.8 percent of the offensive snaps. Add two lost fumbles to that line and you get a committee back who hadn't earned trust, not a workhorse going down.
He split carries with Emanuel Wilson and George Holani the whole way, and that timeshare is exactly what made him un-rosterable in most formats. Price finished with 14 PPR points across those three games in the 2026 season (actual) — fine in a vacuum, useless as a weekly lineup piece.
Who Absorbs the Work
Seattle signed Velus Jones Jr. off the practice squad Saturday, but don't rush to your waiver claim. Jones has zero PPR points over two games this season (2026, actual) and profiles as depth, not a touch magnet. The more interesting bodies are the two already in the mix: Wilson (109 rush yards, 11 PPR points in 2026) and Holani (102 total yards, 16 PPR points in 2026), neither of whom has separated from the other.
The real domino is Zach Charbonnet. The Seahawks opened his 21-day practice window this week, and his return reshapes this entire room. Once he's active, he's the clear lead back and everyone else — Wilson, Holani, Jones — fades back to deep-league flier status.
The Fantasy Fallout
For now, Price is a drop in all but the deepest dynasty formats where you can afford an IR stash on a first-rounder. If you need a Seahawks RB this week, Holani and Wilson are the warm-body options, but both are touchdown-dependent and splitting work. The move that matters is parking Charbonnet on your watch list — his window is open, and when he's back, he's the one you want handcuffed or outright started. Everyone else here is noise until that picture clears.
