The Browns are pulling Jimmy Horn Jr. off waivers and stashing him on the practice squad, per multiple reports, reuniting the second-year receiver with his old Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Horn opened 2026 in Carolina, played Week 1 against the Bears as the primary kick returner — five touches on kickoffs, two on punts, one muffed — then got cut when the Panthers needed a roster spot for linebacker Tyrel Dodson.
There's not much of a body of work here. Horn has 11 catches for 108 yards across 14 career games, and he ranks #360 overall (WR134) in our model after scoring just 29 PPR points last season (2025). This is a depth flier, not a fantasy needle-mover — at least not yet.
Why The Sanders Angle Matters
The interesting part isn't Horn himself; it's the timing. Sanders is still buried behind Deshaun Watson, who checks in at our rank #226 (QB39) and whose grip on the job looks shaky after getting booed off the field in the preseason. If Watson keeps struggling with the Week 3 home opener approaching, the calls to hand Sanders the offense will only get louder.
Horn and Sanders arrived at Colorado together ahead of 2023, and Sanders hit him for a team-high six touchdowns that first season before Horn's production dipped behind Travis Hunter. Adding a familiar face for Sanders — alongside rookie targets KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston — reads like a team quietly stacking chips in case it flips quarterbacks.
The Fantasy Fallout
For Horn to matter, he'd have to leapfrog Isaiah Bond (our WR99), Malachi Corley (WR128) and Tylan Wallace on a young, crowded depth chart — and get elevated in the first place. That's a lot of ifs on a practice-squad receiver whose best-case scenario depends on a quarterback change that hasn't happened.
Bottom line: leave Horn on the wire in every format. He's a name to file away, not a roster move. If Watson gets benched and Sanders takes over, revisit — the college chemistry could earn Horn quick elevations. Until then, this is a stash worth zero fantasy points and pure WATCH status.
