Drake Maye

A soft four-game stretch is coming — grab him before the hype catches up.

Key numbers
  • Maye: 269 pass yds, 3 TD, 54 rush yds in Buffalo upset
  • Topped 27 fantasy points — Week 4 QB1 with games left
  • 3 fumbles (1 lost) and an INT still on the ledger
  • Patriots face Raiders, Jets, Bears, Dolphins next
  • Romeo Doubs: 6-58-2 on nine targets

No player entered Week 4 under a bigger microscope than Drake Maye, and he answered by delivering the single best quarterback day of the slate. Maye threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns, added 54 yards on the ground and tossed in a 2-point conversion to finish north of 27 points — enough to be the week's QB1 even with games still on the board. That's a massive line considering who he was throwing to.

Because the supporting cast was threadbare. A.J. Brown (our #47 overall, #11 WR) is out indefinitely after managing just 3 catches for 26 yards and six PPR points in his lone 2026 appearance, and glue guy Mack Hollins got banged up Sunday. Maye improvised anyway, and the result was an inspiring road upset in Buffalo.

The Mess Within The Masterpiece

Let's not airbrush it. Maye also fumbled three times (losing one) and threw a pick, so there's still cleanup work ahead. But the win-equity plays were real: the game-sealing touchdown came on a one-handed grab by Efton Chism, while Romeo Doubs reeled in the other two scores on a 6-58-2 line with nine targets. Doubs just nudged himself into flex consideration.

The schedule is the kicker. New England draws the Raiders, Jets, Bears and Dolphins over the next four weeks — a clear downgrade from the Seahawks, Jaguars and Bills gauntlet Maye just survived. Some of those are respectable pass defenses, but none of them are scary. That's the window.

The Fantasy Fallout

If you drafted a different Week 1 quarterback and it hasn't worked, Maye is the buy-low call before his name trends. He's a rushing-floor QB who just hung a top-of-the-week number with his WR1 sidelined, and his matchup slate is about to breathe easy. Doubs is a speculative flex add for touchdown upside as long as Brown is shelved. Just know the turnovers mean Maye's weekly range is wide — treat him as a high-ceiling streamer-plus, not a set-and-forget anchor, until the ball security tightens up.
