Key numbers
  • Hurts missed 4 plays for concussion check
  • Dalton threw a red-zone INT to Dillon Thieneman
  • Hurts: 315 PPR pts over 16 games in 2025
  • Hurts down 5.3 fantasy pts/G over his last 5
  • Bears led 7-0 when Hurts exited

Eagles fantasy managers just got a heart-stopper. Jalen Hurts — our QB7 and No. 16 overall — was yanked to the sideline for a mandatory concussion check after Chicago's Jackson blasted him with one foot already out of bounds, sending him flying into the Philadelphia bench. The unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant made the call, and Hurts didn't look happy about it as he stepped out of the medical tent.

Enter Andy Dalton for four plays. It did not go well. The last of those snaps ended with Dalton lobbing an interception to Dillon Thieneman in the end zone, killing an Eagles drive that had reached the Chicago 1-yard line. The Bears led 7-0 at that point, having botched their own goal-line trip and turned it over on downs.

The 15-yard hit on Hurts was offset by a holding flag on right tackle Lane Johnson, so the Eagles didn't even get the field-position benefit. And notably, Philadelphia never burned a timeout to buy Hurts time to return — a sign the sideline wasn't overly worried. He was cleared shortly after Dalton's pick.

What It Means for Your Lineup

The headline number here is the good news: Hurts is back in the game, and there's no indication of a lingering problem beyond the protocol-mandated check. He's coming off a monster 2025 line — 3,224 passing yards, 25 TDs and zero picks through 16 games, plus 421 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground, good for 315 PPR points. That's your QB7 for a reason.

The one wrinkle worth noting: Hurts has been trending down, averaging 5.3 fewer fantasy points per game over his last five compared to his season mark. A slow start against a Bears defense that just held Philly out of the end zone twice near the goal line doesn't help the cold-streak narrative.

For now, this is a HOLD, not a panic. Dalton — with just 293 yards, one TD and 14 PPR points across four games in 2025 — is a bye-week emergency arm at best, and only matters if Hurts suffers a setback. Keep Hurts locked in your lineup, but if you've got him rostered, monitor the injury report through the week just in case the check was more than precautionary.
