Jordan Love didn't hang around long, but he made his one series count. The Packers quarterback marched Green Bay 63 yards and finished the drive with an 11-yard touchdown pass to MarShawn Lloyd on third down. Clean, efficient, done — starters out.
The drive had a little of everything, including a fourth-and-1 gamble from the Denver 40 that Love converted with a 19-yard completion to Matthew Golden. Compare that to last week's preseason debut, when Love went 3-for-5 for 18 yards on a single series that ended in a field goal, and you can see the offense trending in the right direction.
For context, Love's 2025 regular season was a study in ball security: 3,381 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and a spotless 0 interceptions across 15 games, plus 199 rushing yards. That translated to 247 PPR points and landed him at QB14 in our model — solidly a QB2 with streaming upside rather than a set-and-forget weekly starter.
What the TD Means for Lloyd and Golden
The Lloyd score is the more interesting nugget here. He's played all of one NFL game (2024, 15 rush yards, 3 PPR points) thanks to injury, so any live reps — let alone a touchdown grab — are worth logging as a data point in a murky Green Bay backfield. Golden's fourth-down catch is a nice snapshot, but temper it: he posted just 70 PPR points across 14 games in 2025 and sits at WR86, #252 overall in our rankings.
The Fantasy Takeaway
Nothing here changes the tiers. Love stays a HOLD as our QB14 — a fine bye-week or matchup-based option, but his last-five-game form ran 2.5 points below his season average, so don't overpay chasing preseason polish. Keep Lloyd on your deep-league watch list; a healthy version of him could climb the depth chart fast. Golden remains a bench stash at best until the target share says otherwise.
