Day-to-day, not IR — no reason to panic-drop the WR27.

Key numbers
  • Led Chargers with 82 yds, 5 rec, 1 TD before exiting
  • Left late Q3 after legal hit from Mack Wilson
  • Harbaugh: McConkey is day-to-day with rib injury
  • Our WR27; 181 PPR pts in 2025 (16 games)
  • Last 5 games: -3.6 fantasy pts vs 2025 average

Ladd McConkey is day-to-day with a rib injury, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters in his Monday press conference. The receiver went down late in the third quarter after taking a hard but legal shot from Cardinals linebacker Mack Wilson on a pass breakup, and he never returned to the game.

Here's the frustrating part for anyone who started him: McConkey still led Los Angeles in receiving before he left, hauling in five catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. He simply didn't see a single target in the fourth quarter once the ribs got involved. That's a productive day cut short, not a bad one.

The 2024 second-round pick is the engine of this Chargers passing game. He posted 66 receptions for 789 yards and six touchdowns across 16 games last season (2025), good for 181 PPR points, which slots him as our WR27 heading into the year. When healthy, he's a locked-in WR2 with WR1 upside in the right matchup.

The caveat is his recent trend. Over his last five games, McConkey has averaged 3.6 fantasy points below his 2025 season pace — a mild cooldown that predates this injury. Rib issues have a way of lingering and sapping a receiver's willingness to go over the middle, which is exactly where McConkey does his best work.

One more note from Harbaugh's presser: cornerback Elijah Molden (hamstring) is also day-to-day, while receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith (hamstring) will miss time. Lambert-Smith isn't fantasy-relevant — he's our WR157 with just 16 PPR points on the season — so his absence won't move the needle for your lineup.

For fantasy managers, this is a wait-and-see, not a fire drill. Day-to-day with ribs means McConkey has a real shot to suit up, so don't cut a top-30 receiver over a Monday soundbite. Monitor practice reports all week, have a streaming pivot ready by kickoff, and be prepared to sit him if he lands on the injury report as questionable or worse.
