Full practice despite thumb, but he's a streamer ceiling at best.

Key numbers
  • Willis full participant Wednesday with thumb issue
  • 71 PPR pts through 5 games (2026 actual)
  • 849 pass yds, 2 TD, 0 INT so far in 2026
  • 186 rush yds, 2 rush TD add dual-threat value
  • Our QB rank: #27 (#80 overall)

Malik Willis popped up on Miami's Wednesday injury report with a right thumb problem, and for a quarterback that's the kind of note that makes fantasy managers wince. Then came the reassuring part: he was listed as a full participant anyway, meaning the thumb didn't cost him a single rep in practice.

That matters because Willis has quietly been useful. Through five games this season (2026) he's thrown for 849 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions, and he's added 186 rushing yards and two scores on the ground — good for 71 PPR points. The rushing floor is what keeps him relevant, and our model slots him at QB27 (#80 overall).

What the Report Actually Says

A full practice this early in the week is about as green a light as you'll get on a hand injury. The only Dolphin who sat out entirely was cornerback Reese Taylor (quad), while a cluster of players were limited, including running back Jaylen Wright (foot), tight end Will Kacmarek (hamstring) and receiver Caleb Douglas (ankle).

Wright's foot is worth a glance if you were ever tempted to roster him, but there's not much here. He's run for just 28 yards across four games and sits at RB68 (#307 overall) in our rankings. Kacmarek (TE89) and Douglas remain deep-league afterthoughts at best — Kacmarek has three catches for 24 yards all year.

The Fantasy Fallout

For Willis, the thumb is a storyline to monitor, not a reason to panic. A full Wednesday practice says this is a minor, trackable issue rather than a snap-threatening one, and his legs give him a sneaky weekly ceiling that pure pocket passers at his tier can't match.

Bottom line: keep Willis in the watch pile. He's a two-QB and superflex streamer with rushing upside, so monitor Thursday's report to make sure the thumb stays limited-or-better. If he's a full go again, he's startable in those formats — just don't go dropping anyone to chase him in one-QB leagues.
