Jaylen Waddle

Full practice Friday, no designation — he's playing and trending up.

Key numbers
  • Surtain hasn't played since Week 4 (49ers injury)
  • Third straight limited practice Friday for Surtain
  • Waddle full participant Friday, no game status
  • Badie (thumb), Elliss (ankle), Hufanga (ankle) ruled out
  • Waddle: 53 PPR pts over 6 games in 2026

Patrick Surtain II is questionable for the Broncos, logging a third consecutive limited practice on Friday after returning to the field this week. The star corner hasn't suited up since Week 4, when he got hurt against the 49ers, so the limited reps are progress — just not a guarantee he's back in the lineup.

For fantasy purposes, though, the headline out of Denver isn't the defensive back. It's Jaylen Waddle, who was a full participant Friday after being limited in the team's first two practices and, crucially, wasn't handed a game-status designation at all. Through six games in 2026, Waddle has 22 catches for 228 yards and a touchdown — 53 PPR points — and he's running slightly hot, averaging 1.5 fantasy points above his season mark over his last five games.

The Injury Picture

Denver already ruled out three players who didn't practice all week: running back Tyler Badie (thumb), outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (ankle) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (ankle). Badie's absence barely registers for fantasy managers — he's our RB70 and the No. 321 player overall, with just 15 PPR points across five games in 2026.

The cleaner news is in the secondary. Cornerback Riley Moss (ribs) was a full participant Friday with no injury designation, so he's good to go. That leaves Surtain as the lone genuine question mark among the names drawing attention this week.

The Fantasy Fallout

Waddle is the only roster-relevant piece here, and the signal is loud. A full Friday practice plus zero game status is about as close to 'he's playing' as a report gets without saying it outright. He sits at WR53 in our rankings (#140 overall), which makes him a flex-caliber hold in deeper formats rather than a weekly lock — but the recent uptick in production is real.

Start Waddle with confidence this week; the chest issue looks behind him and his form trend is pointing the right direction. If you're stashing Badie anywhere, cut him loose — he's ruled out and offers nothing even when active. As for Surtain, there's no fantasy decision to make, but monitor his status if you're playing IDP leagues.
