Puka Nacua Exits Practice With Calf Injury as Rams' WR Room Thins Out
Nacua left Thursday's session early with a calf issue, just two days after Davante Adams landed on IR. The WR1 overall could be a game-time call for Vegas.

Our WR1 overall left practice early — monitor Friday's report before locking lineups.
- Nacua left Thursday practice with a calf injury
- Our #2 overall player, WR1 at the position
- 9.3 catches per game in 2026 — a career high
- Rams other WRs have just 13 combined catches
- Adams went to IR two days earlier
The Rams' receiver room just got a lot scarier to own. Puka Nacua — our #2 player overall and the top-ranked WR in our model — left Thursday's practice early with a calf injury, and the timing couldn't be worse. It lands two days after Los Angeles placed Davante Adams on injured reserve, stripping away the one piece that let them survive Nacua's earlier absence.
There's no official read on severity yet. But the math around this offense is ugly. Between them, Nacua and Adams account for 67 of the team's receptions this season; every other Rams wideout combined has 13. Nacua already missed two games earlier with a hip and groin issue — and back then, at least Adams was there to carry the target load.
Why This One Stings
Nacua isn't just productive, he's historically productive. He led the NFL with 129 catches last year, and he's averaging a career-high 9.3 grabs per game in 2026. Through four games this season he's posted 37 receptions for 417 yards and a touchdown, plus a rushing score — good for 92 PPR points, which is elite per-game volume despite the missed time.
Adams, before the IR move, was no slouch himself: our #42 overall player and WR10, with 30 catches, 480 yards and four touchdowns across six games (102 PPR points in 2026), actually trending up with +2.3 fantasy points over his last five versus his season average. Losing both in the same week would leave Sean McVay scrambling for anyone who can run a route.
The Fantasy Fallout
The 2-4 Rams host — well, visit — Las Vegas on Sunday as 3.5-point favorites, so if Nacua plays, the volume is still there in a competitive game script. That's the whole ballgame for his managers: a healthy Nacua in a thin room sees a monster target share, while a sidelined Nacua guts a huge chunk of your lineup.
Don't bench him preemptively, but don't sleep on Friday's injury report either. If you've got the roster spot, grab the Rams' next man up as a dart throw now, before Saturday's panic run. Have a contingency plan ready, and if Nacua's tagged questionable, confirm a Sunday backup before kickoff. This is a pure wait-and-watch until we get an official designation.
