No practice window yet means weeks of dead roster space.

Key numbers
  • Left Week 3 vs. Broncos with injury
  • 21-day return window hasn't opened yet
  • 2026 so far: 7 rec, 63 yds, 1 TD (3 games)
  • Our TE rank #49, overall #292
  • 2025 second-round pick

If you've been sitting on Terrance Ferguson hoping for a quick return, the news isn't good. Adam Schefter reports the Rams tight end still isn't ready to open his 21-day return-to-practice window, and that it'll take more time before the clock even starts. Translation: he's not just out this week — he's not close.

Ferguson has been on injured reserve since leaving the Week 3 matchup against the Broncos. Before the injury, the 2025 second-rounder had logged 7 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown across three games this season (2026, actual), good for 19 PPR points. That's modest production, and now it's frozen in place for the foreseeable future.

The key detail here is the practice window. A player on IR has to be designated to return before his 21-day clock begins, and only then can the team activate him. Ferguson isn't at that stage. That means you're looking at a minimum of several more weeks before he could realistically see the field again.

What It Means for Your Roster

Ferguson was always a deep-league dart throw. He sits at TE49 and #292 overall in our rankings, and even healthy he was buried behind a Rams pass-catching group that doesn't funnel much volume to the tight end spot. His three-game sample this year didn't change that math.

Add an open-ended IR stay on top of a fringe role, and the calculus is simple. There's no reason to carry him on a standard-sized bench while he convalesces with no timeline attached. The upside just isn't there to justify the roster spot.

The move: drop Ferguson in all but the deepest dynasty formats, where you can stash him on an IR slot without penalty. If you're in a redraft league, he's waiver fodder — grab a tight end who's actually playing. Should his practice window finally open down the stretch, he's worth a second look, but that's a problem for a later week, not this one.
