Wilson leaves Sunday's game catchless and is now bracing for multiple weeks out — thinning a Pittsburgh receiver room already down two bodies.

Pittsburgh's clear WR1 only gets more targets as the room thins out.

Key numbers
  • Wilson expected to miss a couple of weeks (finger)
  • Seeking additional medical opinions before deciding
  • 14 rec, 188 yds, 2 TD on the 2026 season
  • Pittman out, Skowronek left Sunday with calf injury
  • Metcalf: 19 rec, 225 yds, 49 PPR pts in 5 games (2026)

Add Roman Wilson to Pittsburgh's growing receiver injury list. Wilson is expected to miss a couple of weeks with a finger injury and is planning to gather additional medical opinions before locking in a treatment plan, per an ESPN report. He exited Sunday's game without recording a catch.

On the year, Wilson has logged 14 receptions for 188 yards and two touchdowns across the 2026 season — modest production, but production the Steelers can't easily replace right now. He's a depth piece on most rosters, so the fantasy sting isn't about him specifically. It's about what happens to the rest of the room.

A Thinning Receiver Room

Pittsburgh is already without Michael Pittman, and Ben Skowronek left Sunday's game with a calf injury of his own. That leaves DK Metcalf, Germie Bernard, Brandon Smith and Kaden Wetjen as the healthy bodies standing — and that's a thin group to run an NFL passing game through.

Metcalf is the obvious beneficiary. He's the engine here, carrying 19 catches for 225 yards and a touchdown — 49 PPR points through five games in the 2026 season — and our model ranks him WR41 (#111 overall). More injuries around him means more volume funneled his way. He was already a weekly starter; this only reinforces it.

Who Steps Up Behind Him

Germie Bernard is the sneaky name. He's quietly put up 13 receptions for 140 yards (27 PPR points in five games, 2026), and sits at WR78 (#198 overall) in our rankings. With Wilson, Pittman and possibly Skowronek sidelined, Bernard's snap share and target floor both climb. Skowronek (3 rec, 32 yards, one TD — 12 PPR points over five games, 2026) is nursing his own injury, and Wetjen remains unranked with zero production so far.

The actionable read: don't scramble for Wilson himself. Keep holding Metcalf as a locked-in starter who gets even more looks in a depleted offense. In deeper PPR leagues, Germie Bernard is the speculative add worth a bench spot while the room is this banged up. Treat Wilson as a wait-and-see, especially since he's still seeking medical opinions before committing to a timeline.
