Tank Dell Set to Play Sunday, First Game Action Since 2024
Dell was a full participant Thursday and is expected to suit up for the first time in nearly two years. Schultz returned limited; Montgomery sat again.

Playing Sunday after a year-plus out — don't start him blind.
- Dell a full participant Thursday, expected to play Sunday
- First game action for Dell since 2024
- Schultz (quad) back to limited; 56 PPR pts in 2026 (6 gms)
- Montgomery (groin) out a second straight day
- Dell posted 140 PPR pts in 2024 (14 games)
The headline out of Houston's Thursday practice isn't an injury — it's a return. Wide receiver Tank Dell was a full participant and is expected to play Sunday, his first game action since 2024. That's a long road back, and it instantly reshapes the Texans' pass-catching picture.
Dell isn't some flier. The last time he was healthy enough to produce, he put up 140 PPR points across 14 games in 2024 (51 receptions, 667 yards, three touchdowns). Our model still carries him at #8 overall and #2 at the position — a ranking built on upside and projection, not on anything he's done on the field in nearly two years.
Who Else Moved
Tight end Dalton Schultz (quad) returned to limited participation, which is encouraging for a player sitting at #123 overall (#14 at TE) with 56 PPR points through six games in 2026 (28-277-0). Offensive tackle Trent Brown (wrist) went full, and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) was back to limited work.
The bad news: running back David Montgomery (groin) missed a second consecutive day, along with safety Reed Blankenship, tackle Blake Fisher and safety Jalen Pitre. Montgomery (#170 overall, #39 at RB) has 46 PPR points over five games this year and is trending the wrong way for Week 8 lineups. Houston also added guard Ed Ingram (back/hip, full) and tight end Brevin Jordan (foot, limited) to the report.
The Fantasy Fallout
Dell is the whole story here, and the temptation to slot him in immediately is real. Resist it for one week. A player coming off that long a layoff rarely steps back into a full snap count, and the Texans will likely ease him in behind their established target hierarchy.
Verdict: WATCH on Dell — stash him, confirm his role and snap share after Sunday, then pounce if the usage is there. Schultz is a serviceable streamer if he clears limited status. For Montgomery managers, line up a backup plan now; a second missed practice makes him a genuine game-time question.
