Terry McLaurin Carted Off With Knee Injury, Out vs. 49ers
Washington's WR1 left in an air cast late in the first quarter after leading the team with 230 receiving yards through five games.

Knee injury, carted off in air cast — await MRI before any move.
- Carted off late Q1 on Monday Night Football
- Left leg in an air cast, ruled out for game
- Team-leading 230 receiving yards in 2026
- Had a 27-yard catch earlier Monday
- Already missed Week 4 with a hamstring
Terry McLaurin's night ended on a cart. Washington's top receiver went down clutching his left knee while running a route late in the first quarter of Monday's Week 6 game at San Francisco, and he was unable to leave the field under his own power. His leg was in an air cast when he was wheeled off, and the Commanders quickly ruled him out with a knee injury.
This is a real blow for a receiver who's been the engine of this passing game. McLaurin, 31, leads Washington with 230 receiving yards this season despite already missing Week 4 with a hamstring problem, and he'd just reeled in a 27-yard grab earlier Monday before going down. The Commanders trailed 14-3 at the time of his exit and sit at 1-3-1.
A Team Running Out of Bodies
McLaurin is simply the latest name added to a brutal Washington injury ledger. Jayden Daniels (elbow) missed a couple of games earlier this year, Laremy Tunsil hasn't played a snap after tearing his triceps in camp, and Marcus Mariota, Stefon Diggs, Sam Cosmi and Chig Okonkwo have all missed time. Starting back Jacory Croskey-Merritt landed on IR this week, too.
That's a lot of lineup churn, and it funnels targets toward whoever's left standing. Expect Diggs, Okonkwo and rookie Antonio Williams to shoulder more of the load if McLaurin misses extended time.
The Fantasy Fallout
The air cast and the cart are the scary part — this doesn't look like a one-week thing, though we won't know the severity until imaging. If you roster McLaurin, hold tight and wait for the MRI results before making any panic move; there's no better WR to replace him with on your bench anyway. If you're hunting the fallout, Okonkwo (our #20 TE, 16 PPR points over three games in 2026) is the cleanest beneficiary, while Antonio Williams (37 PPR points across five games in 2026) becomes a deeper-league dart throw with a clearer path to snaps.
Bottom line: McLaurin is a WATCH until we get a diagnosis. Diggs and Okonkwo are the names to prioritize off this news, and Williams is worth a speculative stash in deeper formats if the Commanders are down their WR1 for multiple weeks.
