Tyler Warren Limited With Groin as Colts Ease Into Practice Week

The rookie tight end, TurfSplit's TE9, popped up limited Wednesday — but it was a walk-through, so don't panic yet.

Tyler Warren

Limited on a walk-through day isn't a red flag — he's a locked TE1.

Key numbers
  • Warren: 30 rec, 213 yds, 2 TD through 5 games (2026)
  • Warren ranks TE9 in TurfSplit's 2026 ranks
  • Colts held a walk-through, not a full practice
  • Gardner limited, sidelined since Oct. 18
  • Warren also has a rush TD this season

Tyler Warren showed up on Indianapolis' Wednesday injury report with a groin issue, listed as limited. Before you start scrambling the waiver wire, read the fine print: the Colts didn't hold a full practice at all. They ran a walk-through to open the week, which means "limited" is a soft designation for just about everyone on the list.

That context matters for a rookie who's quietly been one of the better tight end values in fantasy. Warren has racked up 30 catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns through five games this 2026 season, plus a rushing score for good measure — 70 PPR points total. That line has him at TE9 in our rankings and firmly inside TE1 territory.

He wasn't alone on the report. Cornerback Sauce Gardner was also limited as he works back from the injury that's kept him out since the Oct. 18 loss to Tennessee. Gardner has four passes defensed and 17 total tackles on the year — relevant for IDP leagues, but not the headline for most of you.

Who Else Is Banged Up

The Colts' list ran long. Guard Matt Goncalves (ankle), receiver Anthony Gould (concussion), tight end Drew Ogletree (knee) and defensive tackle Tim Smith (ankle) all joined Warren as limited. Cornerback Justin Walley (knee) and linebacker Bryce Boettcher (groin) sat out entirely, while linebackers CJ Allen (ankle) and Akeem Davis-Gaither (hand) were full participants.

None of the Colts' pass-catching depth moves the needle in standard formats. Gould managed just 2 catches for 6 yards across 11 games in 2025, and Ogletree sits at TE96 in our ranks with 3 grabs for 16 yards through seven games this season. If Warren were truly limited by the groin and Ogletree were in line for snaps, that'd be a story — but there's no indication of that here.

The Fantasy Call

Keep Warren in your lineup. A limited tag on a walk-through day is practically meaningless, and he's been too productive to bench on a non-practice. Watch Thursday's report — if he's downgraded to limited or out after a real session, revisit it. For now, he's a start, and nobody behind him on Indy's depth chart is worth a roster spot in redraft leagues.
