49ers Injury Report Piles Up: Kirk, Evans, James All Questionable
Six 49ers landed on the report after Saturday's practice, including Christian Kirk (calf) and Mike Evans (quad). Here's who actually matters for your roster.

Calf keeps him on a side field — monitor practice before drafting.
- Six 49ers added to report after Aug. 22 practice
- Kirk (calf) worked on a side field, questionable
- Evans (quad) practiced Saturday, questionable
- Kirk: 58 PPR pts in 13 games in 2025
- Evans: 30 rec, 368 yds, 3 TD in 8 games (2025)
The 49ers' training-camp injury list ballooned after Saturday's practice on Aug. 22, and the names on it matter for anyone drafting or streaming this week. Christian Kirk (calf) is questionable and spent the session working on a side field. Mike Evans (quad) practiced and is also questionable, while running back Jordan James (ribs) returned to the field but carries a questionable tag of his own.
Those are the three that touch fantasy rosters directly. The rest of the pile — linebacker Nick Martin (hamstring), cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (shoulder, day-to-day) and rookie De'Zhaun Stribling (shoulder, day-to-day) — is roster context more than lineup fuel, though Stribling reportedly turned heads as a preseason standout against the Chargers.
What The Numbers Say
Kirk isn't a needle-mover on paper. He posted just 58 PPR points across 13 games last season (2025), landing at WR97 and #280 overall in our rankings, and his last five games ran 2.2 fantasy points below his own season average. A calf that has him on a side field this late in camp isn't the kind of thing you gamble a bench spot on.
Evans is the more intriguing case. He put up 30 catches, 368 yards and 3 TDs in just eight games in 2025 — 85 PPR points — which slots him at WR74 and #224 in our rankings. He at least practiced Saturday, so the quad reads as manageable rather than alarming. Jordan James, meanwhile, is barely a blip: three games and zero PPR points in 2025, and he's unranked. His return from a rib issue is depth news, not a fantasy trigger.
The Fantasy Takeaway
None of this is panic material yet — it's a Saturday practice report, not a Week 1 inactive list. Watch Kirk closely: the side-field work is a soft red flag, and until he's a full participant he's a hold-and-monitor, not a draft target. Evans practicing is the encouraging note here; treat his questionable status as noise unless it lingers into game week. James stays on the waiver wire until the 49ers give him an actual role.
