Brock Bowers Tagged Day-to-Day as Raiders Prep for Week 2 at Chargers
Klint Kubiak says the star tight end is pushing to play, but Vegas won't rush the guy who posted 174 PPR points across just 12 games in 2025.

Day-to-day and motivated to play, but confirm active status before Sunday.
- Bowers listed day-to-day entering Week 2
- Raiders beat Dolphins 27-13 in opener
- Bowers: 64 rec, 680 yds, 7 TD in 2025 (12 games)
- Jeanty led receivers Sunday: 6 rec, 45 yds, 2 TD
- Michael Mayer added 6 catches for 32 yards
Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak labeled tight end Brock Bowers day-to-day on Monday, leaving fantasy managers in a familiar Wednesday-morning holding pattern ahead of the Week 2 trip to face the division-rival Chargers. Kubiak said Bowers is grinding to get back on the field and that playing as soon as possible matters a lot to him — but the staff plans to be cautious and will only clear him if he's genuinely ready.
That's the tricky part for anyone who drafted Bowers as a top-tier tight end. He put up 64 catches for 680 yards and 7 touchdowns across just 12 games in 2025 — 174 PPR points despite missing time — which is exactly why he sits at TE11 in our current rankings. When healthy, he's a weekly locked-in start. The question is simply whether "day-to-day" turns into active or inactive by Sunday afternoon.
The Raiders didn't need him in Week 1. Vegas rolled the Dolphins 27-13, and the offense flowed through the backfield rather than the tight end room. Rookie back Ashton Jeanty actually paced the team in receiving with six catches for 45 yards and two scores, on top of 23 carries for 102 yards. That's a full workhorse afternoon from a player our model ranks RB11 (No. 33 overall) after his 245 PPR points in 2025.
The Mayer Handcuff
With Bowers uncertain, Michael Mayer is the name to file away. He was second on the team in Week 1 with six receptions for 32 yards, and he flashed real usage anytime Bowers has been sidelined before. Just temper the ceiling: Mayer scored 74 PPR points in 2025 and sits at TE35 (No. 244 overall) in our rankings. He's a streamer at best, not a set-and-forget replacement.
One more roster note from the Vegas locker room: cornerback Darien Porter is also day-to-day after a foot injury Sunday. That's an IDP and matchup wrinkle more than a skill-position issue, but worth tracking if you're stacking or fading the Raiders' pass defense against the Chargers.
For fantasy purposes, treat Bowers as a WATCH until his game status firms up. If you've got a viable pivot at tight end, get one lined up and check the Friday injury report before you commit. If Bowers practices in full and clears, plug him back in without a second thought — this is a top-12 asset, not a bench debate. And if you're desperate and Bowers sits, Mayer is the plug-and-pray play in the same offense.
