Dameon Pierce Lands on IR as Eagles' RB Room Hits Rock Bottom
Pierce joins Bigsby and Shipley on IR, leaving Philly with a banged-up Barkley and practice-squad call-up Jaydon Blue heading into Week 8.

The last RB standing behind a hobbled Barkley — monitor his Week 8 snaps.
- Pierce to IR, out a minimum of four games
- Eagles' RB2, RB3 and RB4 all now on IR
- Pierce had 30 PPR pts over 3 games (2026)
- Bigsby eligible to return after Week 8
- Blue called up to active roster from practice squad
Add Dameon Pierce to the pile. The Eagles placed the veteran back on injured reserve after he went down in the fourth quarter of Monday night's loss to Dallas, which means he's sidelined at least four games. The gut-punch here: Pierce was actually leading all Philly backs in touches that night because Saquon Barkley wasn't healthy enough to carry his usual load.
That's the whole story in one sentence. Philadelphia's RB2 (Tank Bigsby), RB3 (Will Shipley) and now RB4 (Pierce) are all on IR, and RB5 Carson Steele was already waived off IR with an injury settlement. For a team that hasn't blocked the run well all season, this is about as thin as a backfield can get.
Who's Actually Left
The emergency answer is Jaydon Blue, a former Cowboys draft pick the Eagles signed off their practice squad to the active roster. Blue has bounced on and off Philly's roster already — he suited up in Week 6 against Carolina but never took a snap, then got waived and re-signed to the practice squad. Now, with Pierce done and Barkley still gimpy, Blue looks poised for real work against Washington in Week 8.
There's a timeline worth tracking. Bigsby is eligible to return to the active roster after Week 8, and Shipley opens up a week later in Week 9. So this is a short-term crunch, not a season-long collapse — but short-term is exactly when fantasy managers get burned chasing a committee that doesn't exist yet.
The Fantasy Fallout
Pierce was a fine deep-league plug while he had the volume — 96 rushing yards, two scores and 30 PPR points across three games this season (2026), good enough for our RB27 rank (#134 overall). That production is now gone for at least a month, so he's a drop in anything but the deepest formats.
The upside play is Blue, who's suddenly the only healthy back behind a Barkley who can't be trusted to go full tilt. If you've got a speculative bench spot, grab him before your leaguemates clock the depth chart. But hold your expectations in check: Philly's run blocking has been shaky, Barkley could reclaim his touches the moment he's right, and Bigsby's return is already on the calendar. File Blue under 'watch his Week 8 workload closely' rather than 'auto-start.'
