Jalen Hurts checked in at No. 56 on this year's NFL Top 100, a 37-spot fall that marks his lowest placement since before his 2023 breakout, when he sat at No. 3. His teammate, cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, debuted at No. 47 — a nod to a second-year All-Pro campaign in which he surrendered just 39 completions and 94 yards after the catch all season. The list, voted on by players, still has several Eagles to come, with Cooper DeJean, Jalen Carter and Saquon Barkley expected in the coming weeks.
The drop reads worse than it plays. Hurts threw for a career-high 25 touchdowns and added eight on the ground in 2025 (16 games), and his peers reportedly dinged him for a lower completion percentage and a smaller run role. Even after the slide, he ranked ahead of Lamar Jackson (No. 69), Jordan Love (No. 72) and Baker Mayfield (No. 77). Voters aren't fantasy managers, and the two groups grade very different things.
What the numbers actually say
Hurts finished 2025 with 315 PPR points across 16 games — QB7 in our final rankings, and he sits at #16 overall (#7 at the position) in our current board. The kicker: zero interceptions on the year. That's the profile of a rock-solid weekly starter, not a player worth demoting off a peer poll. His last-five-games form was down 5.3 fantasy points versus his season average, which is worth filing away but hardly alarming for a dual-threat QB with a rushing floor.
The bigger fantasy variable is context. Philadelphia is installing a new offensive coordinator and scheme, and A.J. Brown is gone — now a Patriot after a 78-1,003-7 season (220 PPR points) in 2025. Losing your top outside threat matters for volume, but Hurts' legs insulate him better than almost any passer. Eight rushing scores is a cheat code redraft can't ignore.
For Mitchell, the fantasy relevance is limited to IDP formats, where his lockdown role and pass-breakup volume make him a name to know rather than a plug-and-play scorer. His value is real; it just doesn't move the needle in standard leagues.
The verdict on Hurts: hold, and don't let a peer vote spook you into a discount trade. He returned QB7 numbers with a pristine 0-INT season, and even with Brown gone and a new scheme, his rushing floor keeps him firmly in the QB1 tier. If a leaguemate wants to sell you on the ranking slide as a reason to buy him low, take that call.
