Jaxon Smith-Njigba

WR1 overall with 129 yards and a TD by halftime — he's untouchable.

Key numbers
  • JSN: 6 catches, 129 yards, 1 TD in the first half
  • Our #1 WR, #4 overall player entering Week
  • JSN: 49 rec, 717 yds, 7 TD through 6 games (2026)
  • Chiefs held to 92 total yards, 0-of-4 on third down
  • KC 0-38 all-time when scoreless in first half

Jaxon Smith-Njigba isn't waiting for the second half. The reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year already has 129 yards on six catches before the break, capped by a 28-yard touchdown late in the second quarter that pushed Seattle to a 10-0 lead over Kansas City on Sunday night.

The score came on a one-on-one against Chiefs rookie corner Mansoor Delane, who actually defended it well — JSN just ripped the ball away to finish the play. That's the kind of elite-WR difficulty that justifies our No. 1 overall ranking at the position. Smith-Njigba entered the night having piled up 49 catches, 717 yards and seven scores through six games this season (2026), good for 165 PPR points.

Mahomes Buried in Pressure

Patrick Mahomes has had no answer for Seattle's front. He's 8-of-15 for just 68 yards with an interception — a throw forced by Nick Emmanwori's pressure that floated right to safety Ty Okada and set up the JSN touchdown. The Chiefs managed 92 total yards and five first downs in a half where they went 0-of-4 on third down.

The history is ugly, too. Per the Associated Press, Kansas City has lost 38 straight games when held scoreless in the first half, dating back decades. Their best shot at points — a Harrison Butker 58-yarder on the final snap — fell well short. Butker sits at our No. 178 overall, No. 21 among kickers, with 44 PPR points across five games this season (2026) and a form dip of 8.8 points below his average over his last five.

On the Seattle side, Sam Darnold had been humming — 13-of-18 for 178 yards — right up until a second-and-goal interception that got returned to the Seahawks' 44. It was his last throw of the half. Darnold's seven touchdowns against seven picks this season (2026) are exactly why he's only our QB30; the ceiling is real, but so is the turnover risk.

The Fantasy Fallout

Nothing changes for JSN managers: you started him, you're going to keep starting him, and this is why he's a weekly top-three option at the position. Mahomes owners are sweating a disaster of a first half, but he remains a must-start QB16 given the garbage-time volume likely coming. Fade Butker in a game script where Kansas City can't move the ball, and treat Darnold's box score as a cautionary tale — the yards look nice until the interceptions arrive.
