Jayden Daniels Returns in Week 5 — Here's the Fantasy Read
Daniels is back from an elbow injury against the Giants, and his legs make him a sneaky QB1 play. He's topped 30 rush yards in 20 of 26 career games.

Rushing floor vs. the Giants makes him a confident Week 5 QB1.
- Daniels: 30+ rush yds in 20 of 26 career games
- Daniels out since Week 2 elbow injury vs. Dallas
- Lawrence: 843 pass yds, 8 TD in 4 games (2026)
- Love: 11 catches in 4 games, 49 PPR pts (2026)
- Lions enter Week 5 last vs. completions allowed
Jayden Daniels is back. After missing time with the elbow injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Cowboys, Washington's quarterback returns Sunday against the New York Giants — and the fantasy case for firing him up comes down almost entirely to his legs. Through two games this season (2026), Daniels has put up 260 passing yards, three touchdowns and 100 rushing yards for 32 PPR points, and he sits at #35 among QBs in our rankings while he shakes off the layoff.
The rushing floor is the whole pitch. Daniels has cleared 30 rushing yards in 20 of the 26 regular-season games he's played in his career, and the Giants' defense isn't the kind of unit that suddenly reverses that trend. For managers in superflex or two-QB formats, that mobility is the safety net — even on a slow passing night, he's manufacturing fantasy points with his feet.
Lawrence Stays Hot
Elsewhere in Week 5, Trevor Lawrence keeps rolling. He's piled up 843 passing yards and eight touchdowns against two picks across four games this season (2026), good for 65 PPR points and the #4 spot at the position in our rankings. The matchup against a banged-up but still dangerous Eagles front is interesting because Philly's pass rush tends to force quarterbacks into scramble situations — opposing QBs have run 16 times against them in four games.
That matters for Lawrence, who's barely used his legs so far (just 34 rushing yards this season). If the Eagles collapse the pocket the way they usually do, don't be shocked to see him pick up chunk yardage escaping pressure. It's a small bonus on top of an already-locked QB1 start.
The Rookie Worth Watching
Then there's Jeremiyah Love, the Cardinals rookie who hasn't broken out yet but keeps catching the ball. He's got 11 receptions in four games this season (2026), with two-plus grabs in three of them, totaling 49 PPR points. This week he draws a Detroit defense that entered Week 5 dead last in completions allowed and first in first downs allowed — a genuine get-right spot through the air.
Fantasy bottom line: start Daniels with confidence in Week 5. The rushing production travels regardless of how the arm looks coming off the injury, and the Giants matchup does him no harm. Lawrence is an obvious lock. And if you're in a deep PPR league, Love is a speculative flex dart worth a look against a Lions unit that can't cover anyone.
