Kyren Williams, Blake Corum Power Rams Win as Adams Hits IR

Williams ran for a season-high 99 yards and Corum added 93 in a 35-21 Week 7 romp — and with Davante Adams out 6-10 weeks, the backfield just got bigger.

Adams' absence hands this committee more volume for 6-10 weeks.

Key numbers
  • Williams: 99 yds on 16 carries, both season highs
  • Corum: 17 carries, 93 yds, game-sealing TD
  • Rams rushed for nearly 200 yds in 35-21 win
  • Adams out 6-10 weeks, opening up the offense
  • Corum is our RB26; Williams anchors the RB1 role

A week after Kyren Williams aired out his frustration over being a bystander in his own offense — 50 yards on 10 touches and just 40 snaps in a second straight loss — he answered with the best game of his year. Williams ran for a season-high 99 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown Sunday, and Blake Corum matched the energy with 93 yards on 17 carries and a score of his own as the Rams steamrolled the Raiders 35-21 in Week 7.

As a unit, Los Angeles pounded out nearly 200 rushing yards. When the Raiders tried to climb back into it late, Sean McVay leaned on both backs seven times during a 15-play, 66-yard fourth-quarter drive — and it was Corum who punched in the clincher. McVay called it the first game that truly reflected what he wanted out of his two-back system, crediting the backs and a blocking surface that finally held up.

The breakthrough wasn't just the tailbacks. The offensive line won with pad level and the tight ends stayed engaged on blocks despite being shorthanded — Terrance Ferguson is on IR and Colby Parkinson rotated in and out multiple times through apparent injuries. That cleaner front gave Williams and Corum room to work, which, per McVay, kept the Rams out of bad down-and-distance spots.

Why This Matters More Now

Here's the context that turns a nice win into a fantasy storyline: Davante Adams is out for the next 6-10 weeks. With the passing game losing its top target, the run game may have to carry this season. And this isn't a classic thunder-and-lightning split — Williams and Corum are nearly identical in size, with Williams just an inch taller and five pounds heavier, both capable of running the full menu out of any package.

The Fantasy Fallout

Corum enters the week as our RB26 with 70 PPR points through seven games (2026 season, actual), while Williams remains the clear lead and three-down anchor of the backfield. The split caps both ceilings somewhat, but the Adams injury is a volume gift: fewer mouths in the passing game means more designed rushes and red-zone looks for this duo. Parkinson, our TE41 with just 30 PPR points this season, is a desperation-only streamer given the injury cloud.

The move: hold Williams as a locked-in RB2 with weekly flex-to-RB1 upside, and buy low on Corum while his managers still fret about the timeshare. Any backfield with a bump in total carries and a motivated lead back is worth owning — and for the next month-plus, this one has every reason to feed both guys.
