Home prime-time shootout against a leaky Panthers secondary.

Key numbers

  • Young: 1,712 yds, 12 TD, 4 INT, QB15 (2026)
  • Panthers missing LT Damien Lewis, edge Jaelen Phillips
  • Golden up +1.8 FPTS vs avg over last 5 (2026)
  • Coker: 25-328-2, WR35 across 5 games (2026)

Thursday night at Lambeau has the makings of a track meet, and that's exactly what fantasy managers want to hear. Jordan Love walks into Week 8 with 1,958 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and — this is the wild part — zero interceptions through seven games. That's good for QB7 in our rankings and 137 PPR points on the season, and he gets a Carolina defense that's already down two of its best pieces.

The Panthers are missing left tackle Damien Lewis and edge rusher Jaelen Phillips, which matters for both sides of this one. Carolina's run defense has been exploitable all year, and their secondary is the kind of back end that lets games spiral. On the other sideline, Bryce Young (QB15, 1,712 yards, 12 TD, 4 INT in six games) should be chucking it to keep pace. Two questionable defenses, one prime-time stage — the ingredients for a shootout are all here.

Green Bay's Shifting Pass Pecking Order

The Packers' backfield has been a disappointment on the ground, so keep an eye on how they're using Josh Jacobs instead. He drew seven targets against Detroit last week, turning five catches into 55 receiving yards and looking far more dangerous as a receiver than a between-the-tackles grinder. If Matt LaFleur leans into that, Jacobs' PPR floor gets a lot sturdier.

At receiver, the depth chart is in flux. Matthew Golden (WR11, 512 yards and three scores across seven games) has been the focal point lately and is trending up — plus-1.8 fantasy points per game over his last five versus his season average. But he's banged up, which cracks the door for Christian Watson and Savion Williams. Williams returned in Week 6 and immediately earned seven targets over two games, so he's quietly worth a deeper-league look.

Carolina's Answer

On the Panthers side, the passing game is a guessing game between Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker. Coker checks in as our WR35 (25 catches, 328 yards, two TD in five games), but McMillan has been the steadier target hog, and both of his touchdowns came in a prime-time spot against an NFC North defense — which is almost exactly what Thursday offers again.

The bottom line: start your Packers with confidence. Love is a no-brainer QB1 play in a home shootout, and Golden stays locked in if he suits up. Watson and Williams are speculative FLEX dart throws in deeper formats. For Carolina, Young is a streamable QB2 with upside if your matchup is stacked against you — just know his last five games have run 2.4 fantasy points below his season average, so manage expectations accordingly.
