Pollard Clear to Play as Tyjae Spears Stays Questionable for Titans
Pollard carries no injury tag while Spears (ankle) is a game-time question — and rookie Nick Singleton is lurking behind both.

No injury designation and Spears banged up means workhorse volume.
- Pollard carries no injury designation for Week 3
- Spears (ankle) questionable, limited Friday practice
- Singleton had 4 carries for 10 yds in Week 2 debut
- Pollard: 186 PPR pts in 2025, RB23 in our rankings
- Pollard +4.6 fantasy pts over last 5 games vs 2025 avg
Tony Pollard heads into Week 3 with a clean bill of health — no injury designation at all — while backfield mate Tyjae Spears (ankle) sits on the questionable list after returning to practice on a limited basis Friday. For anyone rostering Pollard, that's the sentence you wanted to read.
The math here is simple. Spears logged 283 rushing yards and 45 catches for 264 yards across 13 games in 2025 (112 PPR points, RB43 in our rankings). If he can't go, or is limited, that pass-game work and complementary carries funnel straight back to Pollard, who already carried the load for Tennessee last year.
Pollard's Case Just Got Stronger
Pollard finished 2025 with 1,082 rushing yards, five scores and 33 grabs for 206 more — 186 PPR points and an RB23 finish (#76 overall in our model). Better still, he's trending up: over his last five games he's averaging 4.6 fantasy points above his 2025 season pace. A healthy Pollard against a thinned-out committee is a locked-in RB2 with RB1 upside.
The wild card is rookie Nick Singleton. The fifth-round pick out of Penn State made his regular-season debut in Week 2, turning four carries into 10 yards against the Eagles. Coach Robert Saleh praised him Friday, saying he's doing a really good job but is only about 50-50 reading his runs — typical growing pains for a young back. Saleh added he expects Singleton to keep improving and get a few more touches.
The Fantasy Fallout
Singleton is a dynasty stash and a deep-league dart throw at best right now — the read issues Saleh flagged tell you Tennessee isn't ready to feed him yet. If Spears is ruled out, Singleton becomes the clear handcuff and a speculative add in 12-team leagues, but don't slot him into your lineup on a whim.
Bottom line: start Pollard with confidence. He's healthy, he's the volume king in this backfield, and Spears' ankle only tilts the workload further his way. Monitor Spears' final status for a possible last-minute upgrade to Singleton's outlook, and keep an eye on cornerback Cor'Dale Flott (quad, questionable) if you're streaming IDP.
