Saquon Barkley's Stinger Scare: Tank Bigsby Flashes in Week 2 vs. Titans
Barkley returned after halftime following a first-play stinger, but Bigsby's 10-carry, one-TD burst is the fantasy story managers should watch.

Handcuff who flashed 10 carries and a TD before Barkley returned.
- Barkley left on his first run, returned after halftime
- Bigsby: 10 carries, 2 catches, 1 TD in first 3 drives
- Barkley: 15 carries, 83 yds in Week 1 win
- Goedert questionable (knee), had 2 TDs in Week 1
- Bigsby averaged 5.9 YPC as backup last season
Saquon Barkley's Week 2 against the Titans got scary fast. The 29-year-old took a stinger to his left shoulder on Philadelphia's very first offensive snap, headed to the locker room, and had fantasy managers holding their breath into halftime. The good news: he returned in the second half, this time sporting a neck roll on top of his pads.
The bigger story might be what happened while he was gone. Tank Bigsby stepped in as the lead back and made it count — 10 carries and two catches across the Eagles' first three drives, capped by a touchdown after Jalen Hurts threw a pick that Tennessee turned into points. Will Shipley chipped in seven carries on those same drives, mostly in passing downs, so the workload wasn't fully consolidated.
What The Line Shuffle Means
Context matters here. Philadelphia reshuffled its offensive line this week after left guard Landon Dickerson landed on IR, sliding Cam Jurgens from center to left guard and plugging Drew Kendall in at center. Barkley's injury happened running behind that new interior. That's worth monitoring — a retooled line and a nicked-up feature back is a combination that can quietly sap efficiency.
Barkley's still the engine. He piled up 1,413 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns last year — a step back only relative to his absurd 2024, when he led the league with 2,283 scrimmage yards on an NFL-high 378 touches. In Week 1 he went 15 carries for 83 yards against the Commanders, though 42 of those came on a single run.
The passing game didn't miss a beat with Barkley sidelined. Hurts went 14-of-17 for 141 yards and a score over the first three drives despite the interception. DeVonta Smith already had five catches for 66 yards and a touchdown — a welcome sight given his form dipped 3.2 fantasy points below his 2025 season average over his last five games. Dontayvion Wicks added four catches for 54, extending a modest uptick (+1.5 vs. his 2025 average over the last five).
Dallas Goedert is the other name to watch. He's questionable to return after a hard hit to his right leg, a concern for a tight end who posted 11 touchdowns and 185 PPR points across 15 games last year (2025) and already logged two scores in Week 1. He returned to the sideline before halftime, so treat his status as fluid.
The Fantasy Fallout
Bigsby is the clear pickup. He was a 5.9-yards-per-carry backup last season and just proved he's the immediate beneficiary if Barkley's stinger lingers — add him now as a high-value handcuff if he's out there. Don't panic-sell Barkley; a return in the same game points to something manageable. Hold Goedert until you get clarity on the knee, and keep starting Smith, who looks primed to snap out of his cold stretch.
