Week 1 opens with a Super Bowl rematch, and the story in New England is a new face: AJ Brown, shipped from Philadelphia to become Drake Maye's clear No. 1 target. Expect the Patriots to force-feed him early to get the offense's identity sorted. Maye finished 2025 as our No. 9 overall and No. 3 QB (354 PPR points across 17 games — a real result, not a projection), so he's got the arm to feed Brown from day one.
The nuance: Brown's touchdown production dipped his last two years in Philly, partly injuries, partly an offense that led the league in rush rate in 2024 and still ran on over 58% of red-zone snaps in 2025. That's the swing factor here. In New England, the red-zone pecking order isn't his by default.
The Red-Zone Traffic Jam
Hunter Henry was Maye's security blanket inside the 20 last season, pacing the team with 22 red-zone targets (Stefon Diggs was next at 12). Henry turned that into 60 catches, 768 yards and 7 TDs — 179 PPR points in 2025, good for our No. 9 TE. But that volume looked more like necessity than preference; Maye simply didn't have reliable wideouts. Brown changes that math, which could pull looks away from Henry.
The Backfield Puzzle
The bigger fantasy question is New England's ground game. TreVeyon Henderson is nursing an ankle and may not suit up. If he's out, Rhamondre Stevenson inherits the workload — and he already doubled Henderson in touches during the postseason. Stevenson posted 7 rushing TDs across 14 games in 2025 (a real result) and is trending up, averaging +7.5 fantasy points over his final five games versus his season line.
On the Seattle side, Jadarian Price sits atop the depth chart with Zach Charbonnet working back from injury, but rookie trust at the goal line is shaky. That opens a sliver of a path for backup George Holani, who mustered just 15 PPR points and one nine-yard rushing score across 11 games in 2025 (our No. 414 overall). He's a dart throw, nothing more — Seattle's third-highest rush rate in 2025 gives him a pulse, but not a floor.
Fantasy call: START Stevenson with confidence, especially in TD-heavy formats — if Henderson is officially ruled out, he's a locked-in RB2 with goal-line equity. Hold Henry as a low-end TE1 (No. 9 at the position) but temper expectations now that Brown commands targets. Leave Holani on the wire unless you're desperate for a deep-league flier.
