Deep-ball role just exploded: 143 yds, 2 TD, and the O-line is fixed.

Key numbers
  • Love: 25/31, 367 yds, 2 TD — Packers' Lambeau record vs. Bears
  • 258 yds on 20+ air-yard throws — his career high
  • Watson 143 yds/2 TD, Golden 123 yds — first GB 120+ duo since 2016
  • Bears forced into -5 turnover margin, 3.6 yds/play
  • Packers' 9 takeaways rank 4th in the NFL

Three weeks after getting blown out 35-14 by Atlanta on Thursday night, the Packers (3-2) ripped the Bears 31-7 at Lambeau on Sunday — their biggest win over Chicago since 2014. Jordan Love was the engine, completing 25 of 31 for 367 yards and two touchdowns, the most passing yards any Packers QB has thrown against the Bears at Lambeau in the history of the series. He snapped Lynn Dickey's 1983 record of 345.

The headline number: Love went 6-for-8 on throws of 20-plus air yards for a career-high 258 yards and both scores. Per Next Gen Stats, only Russell Wilson (264 in Week 2 of 2025) has posted more deep yards in a single game since 2016. This wasn't a dink-and-dunk afternoon — it was a vertical show.

The O-Line Fix That Changed Everything

Green Bay overhauled its line after the Atlanta embarrassment, bringing in veterans Laken Tomlinson, Kevin Zeitler and Mekhi Becton. The same front five has now started back-to-back weeks, and the results are obvious: Love's pressure rate dropped to 13.3% at Tampa Bay and 23.5% against Chicago, his two lowest marks of the season, with a season-high 2.76-second average time to throw Sunday. Give this guy a clean pocket and he'll carve you up.

The downfield damage was spread across two receivers. Christian Watson caught six balls for 143 yards and two scores (gains of 42 and 53), while Matthew Golden added 123 on six grabs. It's the first time a Packers pair both cleared 120 receiving yards in a game since Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson in 2016 — not bad company.

The Bears, meanwhile, were a mess without Caleb Williams (hamstring). Tyson Bargent and Case Keenum combined for two picks apiece in the turnover column, and Chicago's -5 margin tied its worst since the 1970 merger. Ben Johnson's offense managed 3.6 yards per play, the worst of his 73-game career as a play-caller and head coach.

The Fantasy Fallout

Watson is the actionable name here. He sits at WR45 in our rankings with 77 PPR points through four games this season (2026), but a single-day deep role like Sunday's changes his ceiling entirely — buy low before the market catches up. Golden deserves a speculative add in deeper leagues off his 123-yard line. On the Chicago side, hold Williams (our QB5, #11 overall) through the hamstring absence; he scored 47 PPR points in just two games this season and remains a startable arm the moment he's cleared. Keenum and Bargent are waiver-wire noise — leave them there.
