Kenny McIntosh Works Out for Kubiak's Raiders After Waiver Wire Cut
The ex-Seahawks back auditioned in Vegas Saturday, chasing a No. 3 job behind Ashton Jeanty. There's a familiar face calling the shots.

Kenny McIntosh is back on the audition circuit. After getting waived at the start of the week, the running back tried out for the Indianapolis Colts on Friday and then landed a look with the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday, per the transaction wire. The Vegas visit carries a little more intrigue than most tryouts, because the head coach is someone McIntosh already knows.
That coach is Klint Kubiak, the rookie Raiders head man who was Seattle's offensive coordinator during McIntosh's time there. The catch: the two barely got to work together. McIntosh tore his ACL early in training camp last year, so this is more of a name-recognition connection than a proven rapport. Still, coaching ties matter this time of year, and Kubiak knows exactly what he's evaluating.
Where He'd Fit
The top of the Raiders' backfield is settled. Ashton Jeanty is the clear lead, and Mike Washington Jr. sits behind him. The open competition is for the RB3 spot, currently a three-way scrap between rookie Roman Hemby, Dylan Laube, and Chris Collier. That's the door McIntosh is knocking on — and it's a crowded doorway with camp bodies, not a fantasy-relevant vacancy.
Kubiak hasn't exactly imported Seattle wholesale. Assistants Andrew Janocko and Rick Dennison came over, but on the current 90-man roster the only ex-Seahawk skill player is Dareke Young, with Philip Dorsett also hanging around. Adding McIntosh would give Kubiak one more familiar face, though a tryout is a long way from a contract.
The Fantasy Angle
For fantasy purposes, none of this touches Jeanty's outlook. He posted 245 PPR points in 2025 — 975 rushing yards, 55 catches for 346 more, and 10 total touchdowns — which slots him at RB11 (No. 33 overall) in our current rankings. A fifth-string tryout back doesn't threaten that workload. The players in the RB3 race are all deep-league afterthoughts: Laube scored 6 PPR points in 2025, Collier just 2 across eight games back in 2024.
Bottom line: keep rolling with Jeanty as a locked-in RB1 and ignore the depth-chart shuffle entirely. McIntosh is a name to file away only if injuries gut the room and he actually signs. Until then, this is a training-camp footnote, not a lineup decision.
