Tyler Shough Full at Practice, Kamara and Olave Back on Track vs. Vikings

Shough's left hand is no longer an issue, while Kamara and Olave upgraded to limited after sitting Wednesday. Here's the fantasy read for Week 6.

Tyler Shough Full at Practice, Kamara and Olave Back on Track vs. Vikings
START
Chris Olave

Limited Thursday, trending to play — he's a WR6 you don't bench.

Key numbers
  • Shough full participant after hurting left hand Monday
  • Kamara (back) and Olave (rest, knee) upgraded to limited
  • Olave: 491 yds, 1 TD through 4 games (2026), WR6
  • Kamara: 35 PPR pts in 3 games (2026), RB45
  • Saints host Vikings this weekend

The Saints' Thursday injury report read a lot better than Wednesday's, and that matters for anyone rostering their skill guys. Rookie QB Tyler Shough was a full participant despite the left hand he banged up in Monday night's loss to Atlanta, which clears the runway for him to start against the Vikings this weekend.

The bigger fantasy news sits a tier below him. Both Alvin Kamara (back) and Chris Olave (rest, knee) went from non-participants Wednesday to limited Thursday — the exact trajectory you want to see two days before a game. Neither sat out Monday with anything structural, and both appear headed toward playing.

Olave is the one that moves rosters. He's put up 35 catches for 491 yards and a touchdown through four games this season (2026), good for 90 PPR points and a spot at WR6 (#27 overall) in our rankings. The "rest" designation on his knee is the kind of maintenance that teams slap on No. 1 receivers in October, not a red flag.

Kamara is a murkier case. His back pushed him off the field Wednesday, and even healthy, the usage hasn't been there — 74 rushing yards and two scores plus 11 grabs for 47 more across three games (2026), which adds up to just 35 PPR points. Our model has him as RB45 (#193 overall), a flex-at-best piece these days rather than a set-and-forget RB2.

Elsewhere on the report, the Saints lost a chunk of their front seven to practice absences, and WR Barion Brown (thigh) and TE Noah Fant (abdomen) were limited. Fant has quietly scored three touchdowns in three games (2026) for 33 PPR points, but at TE34 he's a pure touchdown-or-bust streamer, not a weekly answer.

The Fantasy Fallout

Start Olave with confidence unless he's downgraded Friday — a limited Thursday from a WR6 is noise, not a warning. Kamara is the tougher call: if his back holds and he practices Friday, he's a desperation flex, but his floor is low enough that you should have a backup plan ready. Watch the final injury designations before kickoff, and don't overthink Shough — the full participation tag says he's playing.
