  • Lamb: 53 rec, 651 yds, 6 TD, 154 PPR pts (2026)
  • Arizona allows NFL-worst 29.7 PPG in 2026
  • Dallas is a 7-point home favorite Sunday

CeeDee Lamb has beaten a lot of defenses in seven NFL seasons. Arizona isn't one of them. The five-time Pro Bowler is 0-4 against the Cardinals since Dallas drafted him in 2020, part of a bizarre stretch where Arizona has won four straight against the Cowboys and eight of the last nine meetings dating back to 2008. Dallas (3-4) gets another crack at the boogeyman in Week 8 against a Cardinals team that's just 2-5.

Lamb enters this one humming: 53 catches for 651 yards and 6 touchdowns through seven games in 2026, good for 154 PPR points and our WR2 overall (No. 7 player, No. 2 at the position). None of that has mattered against Arizona, and Lamb didn't dodge it. He admitted after Thursday's practice that he's never beaten the Cardinals and said the problem has been energy — that Arizona always shows up more amped, treating Dallas like a Super Bowl matchup regardless of kickoff time.

Schottenheimer Blames the Ball

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer sees it differently. He pointed to turnovers, noting Dallas owns a minus-11 margin across those nine meetings since 2008 and went minus-three in last year's Monday night home loss. That night the Cowboys coughed it up three times — a Dak Prescott pick plus lost fumbles from Javonte Williams and Jake Ferguson — and fell into a 17-point hole early in the second half.

There's a trend worth noting: all three Dallas wins in 2026 came with zero giveaways, while every one of the four losses featured at least one turnover. Prescott, for his part, credited the Cardinals' defense and said the simple answer is to win. His own form is lukewarm — 1,851 passing yards, 13 TDs and 5 INTs, running at minus-1.8 fantasy points per game versus his season average over his last five, which lands him as our QB13 (No. 31 overall).

The Fantasy Angle

The matchup tilts hard toward Dallas. Arizona brings the league's worst scoring defense (29.7 points allowed per game in 2026) against a Cowboys unit sitting fifth in scoring at 27.0, and Vegas has Dallas as a 7-point home favorite. The Cardinals' offense is sputtering too, ranking dead last in red-zone touchdown rate at 42.9%, with Jacoby Brissett scraping together 108 PPR points as our QB19.

Bottom line: start Lamb without a second thought — the career goose egg against Arizona is noise, and this is his softest draw of the slate. Prescott is a fine QB1 streamer here given the matchup, though his recent dip keeps him from must-start status. Jake Ferguson (TE30, 45 PPR points, trending down) stays a touchdown-dependent dart throw. Fade the Cardinals offense entirely.
